The short version: Since September 8, 2026, flooring made in the US gets hit with a Canadian tariff of up to 50%. Flooring made anywhere else doesn’t. The good news? Most of what’s in our showroom was never made in the US to begin with. Here’s the rundown.
Hardwood
No tariff: Lauzon, Appalachian, Mercier, Preverco, Craft, Urbanwood, Timeless, Kentwood, Magna
Tariffed: Provenza
Almost all our hardwood comes from Canadian mills. Tariffs? Not their problem.

Carpet
No tariff: Beaulieu Canada, Stanton Carpet and Cavan custom rugs, Cascade, Godfrey Hirst, Mohawk wool
Tariffed: Mohawk nylon, polyester and SmartStrand, Tarkett, Foss
Beaulieu is made in Quebec and it’s the only residential carpet shown in our showroom still manufactured in Canada. If you want to skip the tariff conversation entirely, start there.
Tile
No tariff: Julian Tile, Ames Tile, Tierra Sol, C&S Tile, Centura, Olympia Tile, Fontile, Xtone, Daltile, Stone Tile
Tariffed: Nothing. Every tile line we carry is in the clear.
Laminate, Vinyl & Cork
No tariff: Twelve Oaks, Evoke, Monterey Flooring, Sequoia, MBA, Magna, Revwood laminate, Eurocork, Dinoflex rubber (made just up the road in Salmon Arm)
Tariffed: Mannington, Armstrong
So what do you actually do with this?
If you’ve got your eye on something from the tariffed list, give us a shout before you order. Prices on those lines can move fast, and we’d rather tell you now than surprise you later. If you’re not married to a brand, we can almost always find you the same look at a price that’s going to stay put.

Are the flooring tariffs actually in effect?
Yep, since September 8, 2026. They run 25% to 50% depending on the product, but only on flooring made in the US.
Is Canadian-made flooring tariffed?
No. Neither is anything made in Europe or Asia. It’s just US-made product.
Is Mohawk carpet tariffed?
Some of it. Nylon, polyester and SmartStrand are; wool isn’t, and neither is Revwood laminate.
Will my quote change?
If it’s on a tariff-free product, no. If it’s on a tariffed one, maybe, so check in with us before you order.
